eFARM GROW Videoshoot for Hybrid Rice Technology

Last March 2, 2022, the eFARM GROW project team conducted its fourth agri-fishery technology video shoot at the Philippine-Sino Center for Agricultural Technology (PhilSCAT) featuring Hybrid Rice Technology headed by our resource person, Dr. Franz Marielle C. Nogoy.

Hybrid Rice Technology is the commercial rice crop grown from F1 seeds of a cross between 2 genetically dissimilar parents. Currently, there are 108 hybrid rice varieties released in the Philippines. Hybrid rice seed production technology is very different from that of inbred or ordinary rice. It requires a different set of skills and a thorough understanding of various concepts and principles.

With hybrid rice technology, “Angat ka sa teknolohiyang angkop at sikat.”
