Yesterday, April 25, 2022, a collaborative meeting between eFARM Academy Project Team and DTI - Nueva Ecija through its representative, Ms. Maria Odessa R. Manzano, OIC Division Chief of Business Development Division, was held to discuss the project's intentions to assist its local learners in pursuing entrepreneurial opportunities brought by the project. In attendance also was Ms. Gesyl S. Dacanay, Trade-Industry Development Specialist of DTI-NE.
Before the discussion started, the project team headed by Dr. Gella Abella organized a campus tour as an introduction to the project. The activity featured 4 out of 8 agri-fishery technologies being offered: goat production at SRC, mushroom production at CTMRD, indoor vertical farming system (IVFS), and aquashade technology at FAC.
Right after, a short presentation of the project components was presented by its respective project leaders and staff to further introduce the project to DTI-NE. Points for collaboration were also discussed to view areas where both entities could possibly team up.
“Actually, nag-strategize nga rin kami ng ano bang pwede nating gawin na innovations to make it [online learning] even more interesting para sa kanila na hindi naman sila maumay sa virtual. Make it hybrid [face-to-face interactions and virtual sessions]”, Ms. Manzano stated. In response to this, Dr. Abella shared that the project also has provisions in virtual and experiential learning. However, on-site visits are still on hold due to the erratic changes in situations and protocols.
Towards the end of the meeting, Ms. Manzano and Ms. Dacanay had the chance to browse the eFARM Academy website and was directed on how to access the courses through the project’s LMS. The collaboration meeting concluded with the aim to draft a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) between the university and DTI-NE in efforts to further implement eFARM Academy, effectively.
Stay tuned with this collaboration effort, ka-eFARM!
