eFARM Academy joins CLSU UC SEARCA ISSP 2022

eFARM Academy takes advantage of the available online platforms to reach both local and international students and stakeholders. With this, the program collaborated with the CLSU International Affairs Office (IAO) to offer one of its agri-fishery technologies in the CLSU UC SEARCA International Summer Short-term Program (ISSP) 2022 from August 1 to 12.

CLSU UC SEARCA ISSP 2022 is an intensive training program intended for international students who are interested in the sustainability areas of agriculture, mushroom biology, fisheries, and veterinary medicine. This year, the program offers four tracks: (A) Food Sustainability and Food Security in Marine Fishes; (B) Sustainable Mushroom Pharming; (C) Sustainable and Efficient Animal Management Strategies; and (D) Combatting African Swine Flu (ASF) through Risk Analysis Test Kit Development: The Philippine Experience.

eFARM Academy is in-charge of facilitating Track C headed by our resource person in ZWAP, Dr. Antonio J. Barroga. The topics of the track are structured into seven lecture packages of at least an hour each, including synchronous interaction with the area experts. The participants are expected to develop a Concept Note Proposal for a Collaborative Project with their fellow delegates after the series of lectures.

Furthermore, eFARM KITCHEN will also participate during the second week of the program, introducing participants to the rich cuisines of the Philippines such as Biyang Sinaing sa Gate (round goby fish in coconut milk) by Mr. Jomerick F. Domingo; and Candied Mushroom and Biko (glutinous rice cake) with mushrooms by Ms. Jennelynne L. Lubrin.
