eFARM Academy        August 15, 2022

The final stretch of the project team on capacitizing local government units (LGUs) was conducted at the Cabisuculan Mushroom Center, Brgy. Cabisuculan, Science City of Muñoz, Nueva Ecija, last August 12, 2022, with more than 20 participants attending. Three out of eight agri-fishery technologies were cascaded: Hybrid Rice Seed Production by Dr. Franz Marielle C. Nogoy-Garcia; Zero Waste Pig Production (ZWAP) by Dr. Antonio J. Barroga; and Aromatic Rice Production by Mr. Nestor D. Pagaduan.

The participants were also given the opportunity to partake in experiential learning activities such as conventional cross breeding and plastic drum biogas digester (PDBD) fabrication and installation. While Mr. Pagaduan made a fun and interactive activity where selected participants were to take home different rice varieties as long as they identified them correctly.

In closing, Mr. Noel John Dela Cruz, City Agriculture Office (CAO) Agriculturist II, expressed his gratitude to eFARM Academy for the opportunities and support they are providing. He also shared his vision for the farmers to try and adopt the technologies shared with them to avoid waste of knowledge.

This may be the last capacity building of the project team, but monitoring, assessment, and assistance of the beneficiaries’ progress on the adoption of the technologies will still be done regularly.
